There are some people that just come into your life and fit perfectly. Those people in my life are Saffron and Diane. I moved to Cape Coral without a friend in the area. I knew only my husband and his family. For the first year, I only went to family affairs and spent time commuting to see my family in Naples. Then, my best friends moved in, Saffron and Diane. Ya know when you meet someone and you just don’t click and it takes a while to warm up… well that SO did not happen.
“Friendships between women are special. They shape who we are and who we are yet to be. They soothe our tumultuous inner world, fill the emotional gaps in our marriages (or partnerships), and help us remember who we really are.”
From the moment that we met, we just clicked and everything was just perfect. We were best friends from day one. In the past year we’ve been through heart break, death in our family, illness, birthdays, love, weddings, vacations, and everything in between. Saff and Di’s friendships mean so much to me, they are my cheerleading squad, my backup and my editor’s all in one. It’s nice to have women in my life that don’t break me down, but build me up.
“Female friendships that work are relationships in which women help each other belong to themselves.”
Do you have a person/people in your life that build you up? Are there people you just can’t live without? What is the best part of your friendships?
That’s it for now
